Quick answer: Breaded Nuggets are 250 Cal per entrée, Grilled Nuggets 130 Cal per entrée, and Chick-n-Strips 310 Cal per entrée (official figures, Oct 25, 2026). One honest warning first: the official category page states these calories "per Entrée" without stating the piece count, so any site that converts them into a per-nugget figure without naming a count is adding an assumption. This page shows only maths whose inputs are actually in the data.

The count maths that CAN be done honestly

  • Chick-n-Minis® (breakfast): 360 Cal per 4 count → 90 Cal per mini (360 ÷ 4). The catering Chick-n-Minis Tray is officially listed at 90 Cal per Chick-n-Mini — the two figures agree, which is a useful cross-check on both.
  • Catering nugget trays: officially listed at 30 Cal per nugget, with tray counts of 64 (small) / 120 (medium) / 200 (large) from the official catering FAQ. A small tray therefore works out to roughly 64 × 30 = 1,920 Cal of nuggets — labelled as our arithmetic from those two official inputs, not an official tray total. Full tray table: catering.
  • Kids' 5-count: the 5 Ct Nuggets Kid's Meal entrée is 160 Cal entrée only (5 count stated on the official item page) → 32 Cal per nugget on that basis. Note that this does not match the tray figure of 30 exactly — different products/preparations are measured separately, which is exactly why per-piece figures must always name their source record.
  • What we will not do: divide the 250 Cal entrée figure by an assumed count. Counts for the standard entrée were not stated on the official category page we verified; when an official item page states the count for each size, this table will show calories per piece for every count with the workings.

Breaded vs grilled

Grilled Nuggets (130 Cal per entrée) come in at just over half the breaded figure (250 Cal) — a 120 Cal difference per entrée, by subtraction of the official figures. Chick-n-Strips (310 Cal) are the highest of the three entrées listed. Add a sauce and the gap narrows: one container of Chick-fil-A® Sauce is 140 Cal on its own — more than the entire grilled-nuggets saving. See sauces.

FAQ

How many calories are in Chick-fil-A nuggets? 250 Cal per entrée for breaded Nuggets and 130 Cal per entrée for Grilled Nuggets, per the official menu. The official category page does not state the piece count for the entrée figure.

Which is better value, nuggets or strips? On calories alone that question has no answer — value needs price per piece. The count prices in the table above were checked in October 2026 (see the note under the table); dividing them gives roughly $0.80–$0.88 per nugget and $2.32–$2.43 per strip, depending on count — our arithmetic on those checked figures, and your restaurant's answer may differ slightly (see how pricing works). On calories per entrée, strips (310) are the largest portion of the three.

Do nuggets come in a meal? Meals pair an entrée with a side and a drink; the side and drink change the total. Kids' portions are covered on kids meals.
